All About Being A Player

UNIFORMS, ETC.

Your uniform, including shirt, shorts, and socks, will be provided for you prior to the opening day Jamboree.  Your uniform should be worn for games only: wear any comfortable clothes for practices.

2009-2010 Uniform Shorts: We understand that the uniform shorts are not sized correctly. The board is in contact with the uniform company. In the meantime, players need to wear solid black shorts to games. The black shorts with white accent from last year are not acceptable since the uniform for the entire team must match. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.

Team Game Day Uniform:
   - All socks must match (solid black)
   - All shorts must match (solid black)
   - Everyone must wear their jersery from the current year
(unless the current jersey has not arrived)

   - Players cannot can wear jewelry of any kind
   - Players cannot wear metal or hard plastic headbands or hair clips
   - Final uniform decision is at the discretion of the game day referee

In addition to the uniform, you will also need:
   - a soccer ball (#3 size for Tots and Under-8's, #4 for
Under-10's and Under-12's, and #5 for older groups)
   - shin guards
   - soccer cleats
   - soccer socks (or other thick socks for practice, so
that the shin guards don't cause blisters).

Tip: put the socks on first, then put the shin guards on, then roll the socks down over the shin guard.

Age Ball Size
Under 8 3
Under 10 4
Under 18 5

GAMES

Games are played once each week, on Saturday.  The game schedule is issued at the Team Photo day.  Wear your complete uniform for each game, as well as your shin guards and cleats.  Bring your soccer ball, and something to drink, such as a bottle of water or Gatorade.  (Sports drinks may be purchased at the concession stand during all game times.)

It is not a good idea to have a heavy meal before games, because of all the running involved.

PRACTICES

The younger teams usually practice once a week and the older teams will have practice twice a week. The day and time for practice will be determined when the coach and parents meet for the first time.

Please do not wear your uniform to practice:  it is for games only.  Last year's uniform is great for practice, or any comfortable clothes.  Be sure to bring your soccer ball, shin guards, and cleats to all practices, along with something to drink.  The concession stand is not open except during Saturday games.
