WHAT DOES THE TEAM PARENT DO?
The Team Parent is responsible for communication between the parents of the team players. This includes passing messages to the parents from the coach, such as practice schedule information, or from the Head Team Parent, such as fund raiser information, etc.
The team parent also coordinates the snacks for the team. Snacks are provided for all team members after each game. Typical snacks are fruit, Nutrigrains, etc., along with a drink, such as fruit juice. At the start of the season, the Team Parent should make up a schedule for each parent to take a turn bringing the snack for each game It is also an excellent idea for the Team Parent to call the snack parent the night before the game to remind them to bring the snack the next day.
The Team Parent also collects fund raiser moneys and turns them into the board and distributes team uniforms, game schedules, team photos, etc.
A meeting is held for all team parents at the beginning of the season to explain everything you need to know. A handbook is provided to provide you with all the details, and a helpful Head Team Parent is available throughout the season to help you with any questions. Please consider volunteering for this tremendously important position. Among other reasons, your child will consider you a soccer hero!
